Life in the neighborhood
Jebel Ali Free Zone, or JAFZA, is one of Dubai’s main commercial and industrial districts. It occupies a large stretch beside Jebel Ali Port and serves businesses involved in logistics, manufacturing, trading, storage, distribution, automotive activity, and regional operations.
Property here works differently from property in the wider Jebel Ali district. Warehouses and industrial buildings dominate, offices support companies operating nearby, and residential communities are generally found outside the controlled free-zone area.
JAFZA at a Glance
JAFZA has grown into a large employment and trading district, with thousands of companies using the free zone as a base for operations across the UAE, Gulf countries, Africa, Asia, and other markets.
The port next door is a big part of that appeal, but it is not the only one. Road access, industrial infrastructure, proximity to Dubai South, and the relatively short drive to Al Maktoum International Airport all influence business location decisions.
For a company searching for space, the building size is usually only the first filter. Power supply, loading access, gate location, storage height, yard depth, truck circulation, and permitted use can change the shortlist very quickly.
What Is Jebel Ali Free Zone?
Jebel Ali Free Zone is a designated free zone in the southern part of Dubai. It was developed around trade, shipping, industrial activity, logistics, storage, and manufacturing, with Jebel Ali Port directly beside it.
The district includes warehouses, factories, offices, industrial plots, staff accommodation, showrooms, storage facilities, and larger logistics compounds. JAFZA North and JAFZA South contain much of the industrial stock, while office-focused developments such as JAFZA One cater to corporate and administrative functions.
