What is the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan?
The overarching goal of Dubai 2040 Plan is to position the emirate as the world’s best city to live in, mainly in terms of happiness, quality of life, and inclusivity for all. At its heart, the plan draws a strategic blueprint for sustainable urban transformation across six key dimensions:
- Increasing green and recreation areas by two folds
- Expanding nature reserves and rural lands to cover 60% of the surface of Dubai
- Creating green corridors linking the emirate’s regions
- Enhancing walkability and soft mobility through cycling, public transport and other
- Increasing commercial and leisure land coverage by three folds
- Strengthening education, health services, and beaches
